Full Description

A watching brief was carried out at this site in September 2011 by D. Hall on the stripping of ploughsoil down to natural subsoil on the site of two new wind turbines. Natural was encountered at a depth of between 0.32 and 0.50 m on the site of Turbine 1 and 0.20 m and 0.65 m on the site of Turbine 2. No archaeological deposits or features were located. A subsequent watching brief was maintained by MAS in September 2011 during the excavation for the cable trench extending between the two turbines. The trench ran for circa 1 km and was circa 5 m wide. No archaeological features or finds were evident.
