Full Description
Site of castle annotated on OS 1st and 2nd edition map. The OS Name Book (1866) noted that there was no written account of the castle and that the foundations had been removed by the then farmer. From description of its size and shape and also from tradition, it was concluded to have been an old Peel tower. The site shows up as a parched area in summer.
