Full Description
Fieldwalking undertaken in 1988 prior to and during ploughing for forestry planting. Land that was not already cultivated was tine-ploughed and scarified prior to planting. The finds recorded were mainly 19th and 20th century glazed pottery including near the farmhouse in Forle Den and on the ploughed main hillslope which also yielded a few pieces of iron work (nails, hinges, wire). On the stream terrace and around the stone circle (NJ53NE0006) 19th and 20th century pottery, glass and clay pipe stems suggested the spreading of midden material.
