Full Description
Cist found in May 1843. The 'stone coffin' contained an urn and human remains. It was found by workmen while turning up stones for building purposes. Possibly the site of a cairn. OS site visit in 1961 found no trace of a cairn or cist. The ONB adds further detail about the discovery, noting that 'two teeth, which appear to have been in a state of very good preservation, were examined and taken away by the late Dr Grant, Huntly.'
ORDNANCE SURVEY, 1871, Ordnance Name Book, No25(1871) 83 (Bibliographic reference). SAB1360.
