Full Description

Site of stone circle found whilst reclaiming land in the 19th century and described then as beautifully paved with large stones, with a paved causeway leading in a easterly direction. this was said to have extended 200yds southeast of the circle to a number of tumuli, which were removed. A single stone that might have been the sole remains of the stone circle was observed in 1900. Site visit by OS in 1967 recorded that the site was indicated by a slight hollow but there was no trace of the causeway. The stone described in 1900 was extant but there was no evidence that this had formed part of a stone circle.
