Full Description
Site of Cushnie Castle or Pitentagart Castle, possibly a 16th century castle. Laing (writing in 1828) noted that It was the seat of the Lumsdens in 1618 as evidenced by a coat-of-arms panel inscribed with the initials RL and ER. OS site visit in 1968 found no knowledge of a castle at Cushnie. It was probably replaced by Cushnie Lodge, built in 1707.
