Full Description

Site of occupation site comprising remains of oval foundations each circa 25ft by circa 15ft, at a location known as 'Jenny Andro' or the 'The Pict's Houses'. Trenching in circa 1850 found these to have floors of rough flattish stones laid close together, covered in ashes. Stone cup, moulds, querns and a small perforated blue glass bead with white vein encircling it were found. A quantity of flints were found a few hundred yards downhill to the south. OS site visit (1968) noted that the name Jenny Andro was no longer known the most likely situation is at NJ 549 136.
