Full Description
Site of a burial, according to the Old Statistical Account (1793) which records that 'about 50 years ago, some men, in casting peats, dug up the body of a man on horseback and in complete armour, who had been drowned either in the pursuit, or flight, from this engagement'. The engagement refers to the Battle of Alford in 1645 (NJ51NE0013). Exact location of the burial is unknown.
