Full Description
Alleged encampment and site of cairns. Vestiges of an 'encampment' are said (19th century) to have been marked by 2 or 3 long trenches. Beside them a great many tumuli, under one of which had been found several pieces of armour. OS site visit in 1968 noted that this area was unsuitable as a site for an ancient field system due to steep nature of slope, and no trace of trenches, cairns or 'tumuli' was found.
