Full Description

Site of a boatyard, probably early of 20th century date. It consisted of a group of corrugated iron sheds, two with Belfast roofs, housing three berths, and an open berth. There is a saw mill, plank steaming building, engineers shop. The slipways when not in use are boarded up. A saw mill and gas works are depicted on or near this site on the 1888 2nd edition OS map. The boatyard closed in the mid 1980s and the slipway and its buildings have since been demolished.
