Full Description
Site of chapel of which there is now no trace. This site may be the site referred to by NJ45NE0007 although the area is known as Chapel Hill. A watching brief in 2001, carried out by Murray Archaeological Services, supervised the excavation of a stretch of circa 200 m of pipeline as it passed approximately 60 m east of the location of the chapel. There were indications of burning and detritus from 19th century farming activity noted in a section of trench approximately 80 m southeast of the chapel location. No other archaeological features or artefacts were observed.
