Full Description
A walkover survey was carried out by Rathmell Archaeology in August 2024 ahead of proposed woodland creation. This recorded a total of 30 historic environment sites, 19 of which had not been previously recorded. See NJ42SE0138, NJ42SE0133, NJ42SE0139, NJ42SE0137, NJ42SE0087, NJ42SE0095, NJ42SE0156, NJ42SE0032, NJ42SE0157, NJ42SE0126, NJ42SE0125, NJ42SE0158, NJ42SE0159, NJ42SE0121, NJ42SE0160, NJ42SE0161, NJ42SE0088, NJ42SE0162, NJ52SW0068, NJ52SW0069, NJ52SW0070, NJ52SW0022, NJ42SE0132, NJ42SE0163, NJ42SE0164, NJ42SE0165. The walkover also recorded probable recent quarries at NJ 47614 22935 (S28) and NJ 49158 22955 (S29), ponds (S8, S15) shown on the OS 1st edition map, spring (S23) and water courses shown on historic maps (S30).
