Full Description
Three circular hollows described as 'Picts houses' were recorded by Jervise (1871). Each measured circa 12-14 feet (3.6m - 4.2m) in diameter and almost 1m deep. The bottoms were 'hard and crusted as if by fire'. Quern fragments of mica-schist were found. RCAHMS site visit in 1996 could not locate these. They were possibly kilns. No further information.
JERVISE, A, 1870, PSAS 8(1869-70) 323-330, 327 (Bibliographic reference). SAB890.
