Full Description

Site of cairn, largely removed in 1863 when rich black earth mixed with fragments of human bone were found in the bottom. Only the faint outline of the surrounding trench was noted in 1910. The New Statistical Account (1845) noted several smaller cairns on the moor to the west. RCAHMS site visit in 1997 found no visible trace of these cairns.
