Full Description
Site of cairns. An 1828 source describes two large cairns, Watch Cairn and Cairn Fioul, on the slopes of the hill. It is alleged that Watch Cairn is where when the 42nd Regiment rendezvoued to suppress the Kern Marauders, and that Cairn Fioul is the place where they divided their spoils after the raid. RCAHMS site visit in 1998 found no trace and it has been suggested that these were natural features.
