St Gerardine's Cave. The site of this cave was in the cliff beside the station, before being quarried away. It was dedicated to an Irish saint known as St Gerardine or Gervadius. Mentioned in the Elgin charters as place of pilgrimage in the 16th Century AD. A small hermitage and oratory was established circa 954 AD. Later Gothic door and windows were added: the Gothic decoration was destroyed about 1768.
