Full Description

Site of a stone-built grain drying kiln, recorded in Trench 25 during trial trenching evaluation carried out by AOC Archaeology in November 2022 (NJ26SW0828) ahead of proposed housing development (Western Village Phase 2). The kiln is keyhole shaped, comprising three sections: the grain drying pit, flue, and stoker/hearth. The kiln measures 4.65 m by 1.7 m at its widest point.
