Full Description

A watching brief was carried out by Cameron Archaeology in May 2017 prior to development. Three walls of a building were uncovered at the northern end of the site, which are the remains of a late 19th century building that is first depicted on the 2nd edition OS map as being part of King's Mills (NJ26SW0189). They were constructed of sandstone rubble, and the building was infilled with clinker and rubble. No other features of finds of archaeological significance were recovered.
