Full Description

A pre-development evaluation was undertaken at Thornhill by AOC Archaeology in September 2007 as a number of crop mark features were recorded in the vicinity. A 10 percent trial trenching evaluation revealed a series of isolated pits and two parallel linear ditches. Part of a rectilinear feature, which may be of prehistoric date, was recorded in the southeast area. Unfortunately excavation could not be extended due to an overhead cable and the development boundary.
