Full Description

Excavation in 1977 revealed a watercourse or ditch, 22 feet wide, which may be northern boundary of the Medieval burgh of Elgin. A stone-lined well cut the ditch, and as second well was noted in the form of an oak barrel set into sand for use as a shallow well. Pottery found.
