Full Description

Site of the Order Pot. Once a deep and extensive pool, believed to be part of former channel of River Lossie. Witches were legally and publically drowned in it until 1560. Infilled in the 19th century with stones and broken material from Elgin cathedral and elsewhere. A stone was erected in 1890 to mark the spot, at NJ2262 6276. Now lies within a housing estate.
