Full Description
Site of a possible crannog found in the former Loch Spynie when it was lowered in the 1880s. The Old Statistical Account records that near to Spynie Palace, 'where the water is deepest, a small artificial island emerged, upon clearing out of the canal'. The island was oval, measuring circa 60 by 16 paces, composed of stone bound by crooked branches of oak and earth. The exact location is not clear.
