Full Description
Site of aeroplane crash site. On 23rd January 1944, a Wellington HE541 on a fighter affiliation exercise from RAF Bogs of Mayne crashed on Elgin Golf Course after making a medium turn to starboard from which it failed to recover. It crashed about 300 yards west of the Club house. All 6 crewmen were killed. The crater from the crash site can still be seen.
