Full Description

Site of a farmstead that is depicted on the 1st edition OS map (1846). It shows a L-plan arrangement of rectangular buildings, attached garden enclosure, a long L-shaped steading complex with an unroofed horse-mill adjacent to the northwest elevation, several rectangular buildings to the northeast and an L-plan building to the east with attached enclosures from the southwest gable. By the time of the 2nd edition OS map (1888) the farmstead is no longer shown. Site visit during a walkover survey by Highland Archaeology Services in November 2021 (NJ25SE0065) noted that no remains of the farmstead were visible.
