Full Description

A watching brief and evaluation were carried out by AOC in May 2014 during groundworks for construction of a single dwelling. Although potentially within the vicinity of the reputed ancient palace of Birnie (NJ25NW0003), removal of up to 0.4m of topsoil across the development area, and excavation of two trenches on a proposed new area of woodland along the eastern edge of the site revealed no archaeological features or artefacts.
