Full Description

Possible settlement. In the 19th century excavation of black patches on an eminence known as Auld Shield revealed remains of fires on the old land surface in association with flints and occasional pieces of agate. Nearby was a pile of burnt broken stones. OS in 1971 noted that there was a natural gravel hillock about 20m in diameter west of farm, which was ploughed but with no trace of fires, flints or pieces of agate. No local information.
