Full Description

Church, opened as a Free Church of Scotland 1854. Originally a daughter church of Burghead Free Church of Scotland, it became part of the United Free Church of Scotland in 1901 and then, by the union of 1929, part of the Church of Scotland. A new transept was added to accommodate increased congregation. The tower and clock are not owned by the Kirk but by the village, having been gifted to the village in 1923 by Innes Cameron. The parish was united with Duffus and Spynie in 1979, but Hopeman is the biggest of the three churches. The church contains a First World War memorial in the form of a bronze plaque, dedicated 2 May 1920.
