Full Description

Site of three cairns, now removed. A short cist was discovered in 1923 at the edge of one of the cairns which was being removed to facilitate ploughing. Sieving of the contents recovered the remains of a jet necklace, comprising two triangular plates (undecorated) which formed the ends of the necklace and 23 beads, together with a few small pieces of human bone. Six of the beads are cylindrical, five circa 0.72 to 0.76 inches (1.83 to 1.93 cm) long, the other circa 0.89 inches (2.26 cm) long. The rest are fusiform ranging from 0.68 to 1.15 inches (1.73 to 2.92 cm) in length.
