Full Description
Documentary sources indicate that this may have been the site of a medieval manor house, originally held by members of the Grant family, from their feudal superiors, the Gordons. An 18th and 19th century Scots Baronial lodge and farmstead now occupies the site.
Period Notes
Present house built early 19thC on site of earlier manor which, in the 17thC, belonged to the MacGregor clan; second Marquis of Huntly captured here in 1647.
