Full Description

Approximate location of the crash site of a Whitley aircraft. On 27 July 1941, Whitley K9033 had just taken off on the second circuit of a circuits training programme when the Starboard engine failed. The aircraft then crashed into the sea in Burghead Bay, but all of the crew escaped uninjured. The aircraft is said to still lie in Burghead Bay, but the exact location has not been established.
