Full Description

A 16th-17th century lead seal matrix found by metal detecting. It bears a damaged legend in black letter script and heraldic arms on a round-bottomed shield. Interspersed with the legend are vegetal motifs. The arms are horn in chief and mullet. On the back is a plain lug which may be a tang for a more elaborate but now missing handle.
