Full Description

Shipwreck timbers found washed up along a stretch of Benholm beach just south of Couts Rocks. The first, reported in 2006, was an arcing length of wood just over 2 m long containing wooden dowels. It bore evidence of once having been heavily infested with marine boring animals. A second timber from the same location contained copper bolts. Both timbers were deposited with the Fisheries Museum in Anstruther. A wooden pulley block was reported in 2010. No timbers were noted during Community Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (CCZAS) site visit in June 2022.
