Full Description
Two wooden canoes were found in the Loch of Leys when it was drained in 1850. One was circa 2.8m in length, made largely without nails (two used in the construction), the bottom flat and composed of a single piece of oak. The other was 'small' and crumbled to pieces on being exposed to the air. Six bronze vessels may have been found under one of these logboats.
