Full Description
Scatter of lithics recorded during fieldwalking in January 2022 by the Mesolithic Deeside Project. Although the field was unploughed, though the stubble field had been nibbled down by sheep. A total of 39 worked lithics lithics were recovered from the two fields, including blades, flakes, cores, a knife form, leaf point (arrowhead) and scrapers. Many of these were in the southern part of the western of the two fields. The assemblage is of mixed Mesolithic to Neolithic date, including a Late Mesolithic blade, early Neolithic leaf shaped arrowhead, and mixed scrapes and knife dating to the later Neolithic.
