Full Description
Scatter of worked flint recorded by fieldwalking carried out in April 2018 as part of the Mesolithic Deeside project. Eight pieces of flint and one of quartz were recovered. The flints included flakes, a core and a blade. This assemblage was not diagnostic to a particular period. Further fieldwalking in February 2020 recorded a total of 56 worked flints including 15 blades, 23 flakes, seven cores, an end scraper. The assemblage appears mixed with some elements of blade technology, including an end scraper which is in form to a group found at East Park and dated to the Late Upper Palaeolithic or Early
Mesolithic. Other finds included a metal button and possible medieval pottery.
