Full Description

A hoard of silver spoons and coins discovered in March 1785 while 'digging a grave near the principal entry to the churchyard'. The finds comprised six silver spoons and an unrecorded number of silver pennies of Alexander III, Edward I and Edward II. The spoons, dated by the coins as 14th century types, and six of the coins are now in the Royal Museum Scotland, the remainder were dispersed and are lost.

Period Notes
The coins date from the reigns of Alexander III (1249-1286), Edward I (1272-1307), Edward II (1307-1327).
