Full Description

Village hall built in 1921 by James Houldsworth, Laird of Dallas, and his wife in thanksgiving for the safe return from the First World War of their sons and other men of the parish, as recorded in a stone plaque set above the entrance. The stone for the hall came from the local quarry and the timber from Wangie Hill. The wrought iron gates include the initials and dates '1896 WHH 1963' - Sir Henry Walter Houldsworth (1896-1963) Brigadier and Lord Lieutenant of Moray, and '1921 IGHH 1963' .
