Full Description
Scatter of lithics recovered during fieldwalking by S Duthie. The southern part of the field is on a large fragment of the Lochton Terrace surface at circa 45m OD, the northern part on steep ground sloping down to the river. A total of 41 pieces were found. These were dominated by flakes including a leaf point, two scrapers and a strike-a-light. They suggest activity mainly in the Neolithic and Bronze Age. Fieldwalking in January 2023 by Mesolithic Deeside group recovered 95 lithics, mainly waste flakes and chunks, most rather small, but but only a few blades and two cores.
