Full Description
Stone artefacts items found near Rickarton which were in the collection of John Sturrock, Monikie, sold in October 1889. The collection comprised: (a) a stone axe 156mm by 76mm, (b) a flint core, (c) a whetstone of schistous slate 53mm x 12mm x 10mm, perforated at one end, (d) nine barbed and tanged arrowheads, (e) a flint spearhead 72mm long, (f) a large rubbing stone or grinder, flat on one side 254mm x 203mm x 74mm. Items b-e were purchased by NMAS.
