Full Description
Iron mortsafe originally from Durris churchyard (NO79NE0002). It was sold in 1840, and purchased by the then tenant of Upper Mill. It was used on Upper Mills Farm as a cattle drinking trough. The safe is coffin shaped, with several holes through the sides just under the original top through which the tackle for lifting the mortsafe was fixed.
