Full Description
Roman coin hoard. An urn containing over 200 1st century denarii ranging from Galba to Severus was said to be found while trenching a field (in the mid 19th century) in which was on the well-known site of Megray Market. The NMAS made a selection of 20 coins from 141 submitted. OS site visit 1965 noted that no further information on the finds or the market place could be found locally.
