Full Description
A gold ring and a bronze dagger are said to have been found near a Roman camp at Mains of Fordoun (NO77NW0007) while trenching a morass in the mid 19th century. The bronze dagger had a prominent mid-rib, 3 rivet-holes, and two bands of two lines on each side of the mid-rib. It was supposed to be in the possession of John Carnegie, Redhall, but there is no knowledge of it there.
