Full Description
Approximate findspot of an Enlarged Food-Vessel of Bronze Age date. Initially described as a 'cinerary urn', it was discovered here in the mid-19th century and was donated to NMAS by W. Ayre, the Parish Schoolmaster, in 1864. The site is within woodland, situated on a ridge which has been quarried for sand. Located to the north of the barrow at Gallows Knap (NO66NW0005).
