Full Description

An Early Bronze Age bronze flat axe with the merest traces of flanges. According to the Montrose Museum Accession Register the axe was found in 1865 by Mrs J Stuart, Luthermuir (NO 65 68). Schmidt and Burgess note that it is more like a chisel. It is rough, green, the cutting edge is blunted and notched and the sides are straight.
