Full Description

A copper alloy flat axehead found during metal detecting. It has a slender butt and broad curved cutting edge and measures 98.7 mm in length, 57.4 mm wide at the cutting edge and 20.4 mm wide at the butt. The cutting edge is worn and asymmetrical, possibly use related. It dates to the Migdale metalworking phase of the Early Bronze Age. Claimed as Treasure Trove (TT.026.18) allocated to ANGUSalive Museums, Meffan Museum Collection (F2018.66)
