Full Description
Half of a papal bulla, which is broken down the central channel which contained the wires that held it to the document. Found during metal detecting. Papal bullae are lead seals that were attached to papal documents to guarantee their authenticity. This one is likely to have been issued by Alexander IV who was pope from 1254 to 1261. Claimed as Treasure Trove (TT.13.17) allocated to ANGUSalive Museums.
