Full Description

Remains of longhouses. Oriented east - west, the original house has been extended by 2 rooms at the west end. The first is 4 m square and entered by a door midway along the west end of the original house structure. The second is 2 m by 3 m joined to the east by the first extension and the west by a low wall running north to join the drystone enclosure NJ15SE0014. The main part of the structure has a door midway along south side, windows in north and south sides and a fireplace flanked by 2 alcoves. Walls generally survive to sill height of 1.6 m. Also recorded during walkover survey carried out by Liz Jones in June - July 2024 ahead of proposed woodland creation (NJ15SE0079).The internal east end shows remains of a chimney breast.
