Full Description

Remains of longhouse oriented north-south. It has a blocked doorway on its west elevation with two doors and a window on its east side. Walls generally survive to sill height, and the gable stands to height of 2.3m. A ruined extension adjoins the north end of the house, 4m long and less than 1m tall. A small scarp is present to the east of the structure. The longhouse is surrounded by a drystone wall NJ15SE0014. The remains were recorded during walkover survey carried out by Liz Jones in June - July 2024 ahead of proposed woodland creation (NJ15SE0079). It measures 12 m by 4 m and has been repaired with cement mortar in places. The south elevation has a narrow slit window, the west elevation has a blocked doorway and blocked window opposite that on the east.
