Full Description

Remains of single-roomed longhouse. It occupies the floor of the valley beneath steep scarps, and is oriented north - south. It has three possible entrances spaced evenly along the east wall. A short stretch of wall joins the southeast corner to the base of the scarp. Depicted on the 1st edition OS map of 1867 as unroofed. Not depicted on the 2nd edition, but depicted on the current edition (2006) as a ruin. Walkover survey carried out by Liz Jones in June - July 2024 ahead of proposed woodland creation (NJ15SE0079) noted that the remains were heather covered.
