Full Description

Approximate findspot of a lower part of a rotary quern. It was recovered from a field behind Cotside farmhouse in 1967. The farmer indicated that it was found alongside what appears to have been the remains of a round hut, with a paved floor and central hearth. The stone is disc-shaped, of garnet mica-schist and 42 cm in diameter at the widest point. It is in Dundee Museum.
